Charles Winslow

Warnerville- Charles E. Winslow, 79, formerly of Warnerville, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

Born December 1, 1932 in Nelliston, NY, he was the son of Newell and Inez (Waufle) Winslow.

Chuck lived in Schoharie County for many years and had most recently resided at Sharon Springs Manor Home for Adults.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1952 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1960. Chuck was awarded a Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Ribbon, and China Service Medal.

He was a groundskeeper for Cobleskill Rural Cemetery for several years and later drove for Coby Taxi.

Survivors include his sister, Barbara Filmer of Florida.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh.
