Cobleskill: Charles J. Kenyon, 80, of State Route 145, died peacefully at home on Sunday, March 13, 2016 surrounded by his family.

Charles was born in Schenevus, on February 13, 1936 to Rose (Tessitore) and Charles O. Kenyon.

He graduated from Cobleskill Central School then drove a fuel truck, worked at Scholet Furniture and drove school bus for Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School for 20 years.

Charles owned and operated Kenyon Refuse Removal from 1967-1989 when he sold his business to Waste Management.

Charles had a passion for dining, good cocktails and traveling. His motorhome took him to all but 3 States and he visited Cuba, St. Martin, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Nova Scotia, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico among other places. He also enjoyed collecting trains, antique cars and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was a member of the Cobleskill United Methodist Church and the Fraternal Organization of Eagles Aeries of Cobleskill # 2695.

Charles was married to Harriet Kenyon from July 6, 1972 until she predeceased him on November 25, 2010.

He is survived by his daughter: Cindy Ceniviva of Schenectady; son: Joseph (Ananda) C. Kenyon of Cobleskill; sister: Mary (Robert) Kochis of Schenevus; brother: Robert (Shirley) Kenyon of Cobleskill; grandchildren: Emily Kenyon, Latosha Hammond, Alicia Dagliolo, Jessica Ceniviva, Kyle Kenyon and Brandon Wheeler; great-grandchildren: Jaedyn and Thomas Hammond.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Cobleskill United Methodist Church, 107 Chapel St., Cobleskill with Rev. Pamela Mickel Hayes officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 6-8pm on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
