Middleburgh- Charles, "Chuck", W. Gray, 64, of Clauverwie, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Glendale Nursing Home where he had been a resident for the past seven months.

Born April 29, 1949 in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Harold and Edna (Claus) Gray.

Chuck was a United States Army veteran, proudly serving his country from 1968 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1974.

He had worked as a welder and machinist, most recently for Hannay Hose Reels in Westerlo.

He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, walking, snowmobiling, traveling, and playing volleyball. Chuck found great pleasure in the time he spent with his grandsons.

Survivors include his wife, Sally (Warner) Gray, whom he married May 8, 1971; his son and daughter-in-law: Timothy and Jennifer Gray of Charlton; his two grandsons: Zachary and Justin Gray of Charlton; two brothers: Harold "Hal" Gray of Burnt Hills, and Gary Gray of Hendersonville, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh. Officiating will be Rev. Neil Irwin of the North Blenheim United Methodist Church. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral on Sat., prior to the service from 10 to 11:30 AM. Cremation will follow at Vale Crematory and inurnment will be in Breakabeen Cemetery in the spring.

Chuck's family extends their grateful appreciation to Schenectady Community Hospice, Karen, Corrine, Sandy, and Doug, as well as the Glendale Nursing Staff.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Schenectady Community Hospice, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308.
