Schoharie - Catherine Putorti Votano, 90, formerly of Schoharie, and most recently of Marchand Manor in Sharon Springs and Ecker Hollow Road in the Town of Middleburgh, NY, died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Robinson Terrace in Stamford, NY after a brief illness.
Catherine was born in White Plains, NY on February 17, 1919 and was the daughter of Dominick and Isadora (Ilingheri) Putorti who emigrated from Calabria, Italy in 1909.
She was predeceased by her first husband, William Lowden who died in 1946, and her second husband, Natale Votano who died in 1995, as well as her siblings; Mary Palmeri, Frank Putorti, Anthony Putorti and Ellen Waranda.
Mrs. Votano is survived by her son, William (Lin) Lowden of Schoharie, Granddaughters, Anne (Jim) Poole of Schenectady, Elene (Tom) Johnstone of Cobleskill, Tonya Federico of Niskayuna and Stephanie Federico of Providence, RI, as well as great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:30 PM, Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the Wesleyan Church, Legion Drive, Cobleskill, NY with the Rev. Andrew Fetter officiating.
At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Catherine's name may be made to a charity of one's choice.
