Richmondville- Catherine Ploss, 72, formerly of Richmondville, New York died Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Capstone Rehabilitation and Nursing in Amsterdam.
Born on February 2, 1951 in Cobleskill, NY, she was the daughter of Charles and Alverda "Suzy" (Palmatier) Ploss.
She spent most of her life in Schoharie County and graduated from the former Richmondville Central School.
Catherine continued with her education and received her degree from SUNY Cobleskill where she studied Horticulture. She loved animals and raised New Zealand rabbits and had her own chickens. She was a member of Cornell Cooperative Extension 4-H.
Catherine is survived by her mother, Alverda "Suzy" Ploss. She is predeceased by her father, Charles, and her brother, Joseph Howard Pickett.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 10 AM at Richmondville Rural Cemetery.
