Warnerville- Catherine L. Orth, 83, of Greenbush Road died Monday, January 25, 2021 at her residence with her loving family at her side.

Born December 12, 1937 in Cobleskill, she was the daughter of the late Charles Sr. and Lela (Tator) Terpening. She was a graduate of the former Cobleskill Central School and was a Customer Service Representative for the former Jamesway in Cobleskill.  Catherine was also a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.

A loving mother and grandmother, she treasured the time she shared with her family.  Warm Florida sunshine on her face and vacations with her daughters brought her so much pleasure.

Catherine devoted many years of loving care to her daughter, Cindy, who died in 1984. She was also predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Orth, who died September 11, 2007.Catherine was one of twelve children, nine of which predeceased her: Donald, Connie, Charles, Jr., Betty, Nancy, Shirley, Roger, Marion, and Charlene.

Forever cherishing her memories are children: Robert Orth, Jr. (Paula) of Hyndsville, Cathie (James) Annis of Howes Cave, Carol Orth (Leonard Merchant) of Carlisle, and Christine Bender (Keith Slater) of Warnerville; two sisters:  Ada Wayman of Howes Cave and Dorothy Brumaghim of Hyndsville; four grandchildren:  Dylan Orth, Elizabeth (TJ) Dibble, Gregory, and Alisha Bender; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A period of visitation will be held from 6PM to 8PM on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.  A graveside service will be held at 2PM Saturday, May 22, 2021 Bramanville-Prospect Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Helios Care 297 River Street Service Road, Suite 1, Oneonta, NY 13820.

Catherine’s family would like to express their grateful appreciation to Randy Pacatte at ProActive Physical Therapy for allowing Christine the time off to care for her mom.  They are also appreciative for the loving care provided by Alisha, Cathie, Casey, Lynda, and Ashley.  A special thank you to Bassett at Home Care, especially Kathleen Ellis for her care that was above and beyond any expectations.
