Cobleskill- Mrs. Catharine V. Gaw, 91, formerly of Cobleskill, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at the Baptist Retirement Center in Scotia where she had been a resident for the past 2 weeks.
Mrs. Gaw was born November 29, 1915 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Richard and Mae (Maxwell) Clough. She and her husband James A. Gaw resided in Ridgewood for most of their married life moving to Cobleskill in the 1970's. After several years they moved to Hammerstone Village Apartments, and then Catharine became a resident of Sharon Springs Manor Home for Adults in1997. Her health required her to relocate to Eden Park Healthcare Center in Cobleskill and then most recently to Baptist Retirement Center in Scotia.
Mrs. Gaw was primarily a homemaker and was predeceased by her husband, James A. Gaw on December 2, 2003.
Survivors include her son, James R. (Lorraine) Gaw of Cobleskill; and her grandchildren: Desiree A. Gaw of Wappingers Falls, NY, Joshua T. (Kimberly) Gaw of Woodbridge, VA, and Sean J. (Sarah) Gaw of Boston, MA.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 2, at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm St. Cobleskill with Sister Connie James of St. Vincent de Paul Church officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM on Sat. prior to the service. Cremation will follow at Vale Crematory, Schenectady, and inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
