Lawyersville- Carolyn O. Bellinger, 95, formerly of Lawyersville, died Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.
Born November 16, 1916 in Carlisle, NY, she was the daughter of Schaeffer and Lena (Karker) Ottman. Carolyn was raised in Carlisle and lived in Lawyersville after she was married. She moved to Troy, PA and resided with her son for the past two years.
While raising her family, she was a member of the local 4-H Club and the Rock District Grange, as well as the Seward Valley Grange.
Carolyn was an active member of the Lawyersville Reformed Church, its Women's Guild, and volunteered at the church dinners.
She was predeceased by her husband, Franklin, who died in 1984.
Survivors include her two children: Joan (Bruce) Bishop of Rutland, VT, and Carl G. Bellinger of Troy, PA; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and her sister-in-law: Mildred Erikson of Cobleskill.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Lawyersville Reformed Church, 4957 State Route 145, Cobleskill, with Rev. Pacia Ferrell Vamvas officiating. Burial will follow in Slate Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 6 to 8 PM on Friday at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
