Carolina Neumann

Middleburgh- Carolina "Rose" Neumann, 88, formerly of Voorheesville, died on Thursday, March 6, 2014 with her loving family at her side in New Smyrna Beach, FL, where she was spending her winter.

Born in Haines, NY on December 9, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Rose and Louis Hanna. Rose was also predeceased by her husband, Kurt, who died October 16, 2008.

She drove school bus for 10 years for Voorheesville Central School District. The rest of the time she was a homemaker and devoted wife and mother.

Rose enjoyed knitting, crocheting, ceramics, sunbathing in Florida, Chiclets Gum and being with her family, especially her grandsons. She was a member of the Eastern Stars.

Survivors include her daughter: Jody (Doug) Bartholomew of Middleburgh; grandsons: Jeremy McDermott, Joshua McDermott, and Justin (Lyndsay) McDermott; great-grandchildren: Logan and Riley McDermott; step-granddaughter: Denise (Todd) Nunamann; step-grandchildren: Cody and Casey Sellick and Douglas Bartholomew III; and step-great-grandchildren: Matthew Zeh, Douglas and Jackson Bartholomew.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Our Lady of the Valley Church, Main St., Middleburgh. Concelebrants will be Father Thomas Holmes and Father William Gorman. Interment will be at 1:30 PM Wednesday at Catskill Cemetery East. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, March 11, at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh.
