Carmen was predeceased by a son, Duane Renzi, two brothers, Casimo Renzi and Maximillan Renzi, and two sisters, Gloria Annis and Mary Reynolds.

Carmen made the Schenectady, Capital Region his home for most of his life. He did a brief stint in the Army and took up boxing while in service, much to his mother's dismay. In his travels, he learned to fly small airplanes, and eventually bought a plane of his own. For a time he was a golf caddie in North Carolina, again much to his mother's dismay. He returned home to apprentice as a welder and became an ironworker for Local 12. He was proud to have worked on Albany's iconic skyline... the towers on Empire State Plaza and the Egg. "That Egg was tricky." He also worked on the Thaddeus Kosciusko Bridge, or the Twin Bridges, crossing the Mohawk connecting Colonie and Halfmoon, as well as the towers at the University at Albany. He loved horses and eventually became a trainer. He particularly enjoyed retelling stories of his trainer days. He had many passions for life, and art enthusiast, golfer, an avid debater of politics, religion, and Joe Girardi. He had a poet's soul, a writer, a painter, a dreamer. He had a devilish smile and quick wit. He had cheated death many times, and joked that he made it through because he, "wasn't quite finished with this world. There's too much to still experience". You will be missed. Bellisimo!
