Carl H. Slater, 77, formerly of Middleburgh, NY died Tues., Nov. 20, 2007 at his home following a brief illness.
Mr. Slater was born in Middleburgh, on Jan. 16, 1930, a son of the late Homer and Aletha William Slater. He attended Middleburgh Central School and was a former member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed gardening and vacationing in the Amish "Country" of Pennsylvania. Carl will be remembered for his loving spirit and his sense of humor. He was predeceased in 1976 by his first wife, Doris Cole Slater, whom he married in 1949 and by 2 sisters, Helen and Louise and a brother Warren. He is survived be his second wife, Jean A. A Funeral service will be held on Mon. Nov. 26, 2007 at 1 P.M. at the Palmer & Shaylor, Inc. Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh. Rev. Peter J. DeBartolo will officiate. Burial will follow in the Middleburgh Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sun. Nov. 25, 2007 from 2-4 P.M. at the funeral home.
