Cobleskill- Brenda J. Fancher, 81, of Barnerville Road, died Monday, November 13, 2023 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
Born December 13, 1941 in Summit, NY, she was the daughter of Ernest and Mildred (Proper) Crapser.
Brenda worked in the healthcare industry for many years. She was the head nurse's aide at the former Chateau (currently the Sharon Springs Manor Home of Adults) and then was a private duty nurse's aide.
Growing up Brenda loved animals, especially horses. In her later years she found pleasure in listening to music, watching music videos and playing games on her computer as well as interacting on Facebook with family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Burr O. Fancher, daughter, Dawn Moore and brother, Ronald Crapser.
Forever cherishing her memories are her children: David (Dyann) Fancher of Sneedsville, TN, Deborah (David) Chase of Cobleskill, Daniel (Terri) Fancher of Esperance, Darlene (Ben) Hamm of Delanson and Donald (Sheila) Fancher of Ooltewah, TN; eighteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; her sister, Nancy Hunt of East Worcester and sister-in-law, Joan Crapser of Carlisle; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a funeral service to be held at 1PM on Friday, Nov. 17, 2023 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill where a period of visitation will be held prior to the service from 11Am to 1PM.
Burial will follow in Seward Valley Cemetery, Dorloo. Officiating will be Rev. Sean Finnegan of the Living Hope Church in Latham.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, Inc., PO Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092.
