Boatler Skidmore

Warnerville- Boatler “Buck” Skidmore, 71, of Leland Lane, died at his residence on Saturday, August 24, 2019.

Buck was born November 11, 1947 in Midland, VA and was the son of Edward and Mary Anna (Williams) Skidmore.

He loved to fish and hunt and was an admirer of all John Deere machinery.  He was employed as a retreader at Rua & Sons, Inc. for many years and also worked briefly for Stonehouse Farms.  Buck loved animals, but was extremely fond of dogs.

Buck is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marlena Lawyer Skidmore, whom he married on March 11, 1978; his brother-in-law, Elmore “Butch” (Francine) Lawyer, and will be especially missed by his little buddie, Bam Bam, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 1, 2019, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY with Rev. Richard P. Bean officiating.  A calling hour will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 pm prior to the service.  Burial will be held at a later date in Bramanville Prospect Cemetery in Howes Cave.
