Beverly Mae Phelan, 91, of Route 7, Warnerville, New York died Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Palatine Nursing Home.
Born on February 15, 1933 in Richmondville, NY, she was the daughter of Charles Phelan and Esther Tingue Phelan. Beverly was a graduate of Cobleskill Central School and of SUNY Cobleskill where she earned her degree to become a Dietician. She spent most of her life in the Schoharie County and Cooperstown area.
Beverly was a Dietician for Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown for 30 years. Following her retirement, she worked for Catholic Charities as a Home Health Aide and then took care of her parents.
She was a member of Warnerville United Methodist Church.
Beverly traveled to Arizonia ,California and other destinations with her sisters and nieces and nephews. She enjoyed making crafts for church fundraisers and always had a puzzle on the dining room table. In her younger years she liked doing ceramics and sewing. Bev was a much loved member of her family. Kind and generous, she always made sure they had what they needed or wanted.
Her brother, Donald Phelan, predeceased her.
She is survived by her sisters, Lois Edelman of Hillsdale, NY and Mildred Phelan of Warnerville, NY; nieces and nephews, Mike, Nancy, David, and Julie Phelan, Sharon, Bill, Sherry, and Mark Edelman; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.
A private service will be held at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY 12043. Burial will follow at Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
