Betty Patterson

Carlisle - Betty M. Patterson, 88, of Little York Rd., died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

Born August 3, 1924 in Schoharie, she was the daughter of Stanley and Mildred (Blanchard) Ostrander.

Betty retired in 1988 from the Cobleskill Regional Hospital, where she was head housekeeper for twenty-six years. She was also a volunteer for the hospital auxiliary.

She was a member of the Lawyersville Reform Church and attended the Calvary Assembly of God Church.

Betty's hobbies included that of tending to her flowers and gardens, and she loved country music and square dancing.

She was predeceased by her husband, William LeRoy Patterson, who died in 1988; her son, Larry, who died in 1941; and a brother, Richard Ostrander, who died in 2012.

Survivors include her four children: Robert (Elizabeth) Patterson, Sr., of Carlisle, Jane (Alvin) Butler of State College, PA, Joan (John) D'Orazio of Schenectady, and Nancy (William) Lape of Richmondville; her siblings: Stanley (Ruth) Ostrander of Leesville, FL and Shirley (Art) Warner of Clifton Park; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thur., Sept. 20, 2012 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill with Pastor Ray Richards officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the church prior to the service from 10 to 11 AM. Inurnment will follow in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh.
