Betty Fancher

Carlisle- Betty J. Fancher, 65, of State Route 20, died Monday, March 2, 2015, at her residence with her loving family at her side.

Born July 28, 1949 in Margaretville, she was the daughter of Willie and Pauline (Moore) Lyons.

Betty retired from Walmart Distribution Center in Sharon Springs where she had worked for several years.

Spending time with her family brought her the most joy. Betty also found comfort in nature walks, crafts, and loved to shop.

Survivors include her husband, Wade L. Fancher, whom she married December 8, 1966; her sons: Stephen (Julie) Fancher of Warnerville, and Danny Fancher; two grandsons: Zachary and Justin Fancher of Warnerville; her four siblings: Cindy (Gary) Reynolds of East Meredith, Irene VanGelder of Washington, PA, , William "Gary" Lyons of Pensacola, FL, and Connie Manon of Oneonta; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill where a period of visitation will take place prior to the service from 10 AM to 12 PM. Officiating will be Vena Ray. Spring interment will be in Summit Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 125 Granite Dr. , Suite 1, Cobleskill, NY 12043.
