Betty Dahlberg

Betty May Dahlberg, 87, passed away March 5, 2008 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Dahlberg was born in Baldwin, NY on March 18, 1920 a daughter of the late Cornelius and Lillian Etta (Buck) White. She graduated from Oneonta State with a Bachelor and Master's of Science degree in education. She started her teaching career in Grand Gorge, NY then on to Middleburgh Central School for several years and finally she retired from elementary education at Gilboa-Conesville Central School. She had a passion for history and travel, spending many summers in England, Scotland and touring America on bus trips. A love of flowers took her to the tulip fields in the Netherlands and the roaming hills of heather in Scotland. Betty loved Spring and the anticipation of blooming flowers and sweet melodies of the songbirds.

Quilting and sewing were an art for Betty that brought comfort and joy. Family and friends will forever remember her for the hundreds of quilts, wall hangings and decorations she made through the years and gifted to them.

She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma since 1973, the NYS Teacher's Assoc. and the Conesville Chapel Church.

Betty was predeceased in 1958 by her husband, Eric, whom she married on Nov. 20, 1941, and also by her sister, Lorraine Foland in 2006. Survivors include:

A Memorial service will be held at 11am on Sat. March 15, 2008 at the Conesville Chapel Church, Conesville, NY. Pastor Dottie Morris and Rev. Jason Thompson will co-officiate. Burial will follow in Manorkill Cemetery, weather permitting. Calling hours will be held from 6-8pm on Fri. March 14, 2008 at the Palmer & Shaylor, Inc. Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh, NY Cremation took place at Vale Crematory Schenectady, NY
