Betty Butler, 90, of Cobleskill passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015.
Born in Worcester, NY, on January 10, 1925, she was the daughter of Arthur and Sarah (Terk) Ives.
Betty was a member of the Cobleskill United Methodist Church and the Turquoise Unit at the former Cobleskill Community Hospital. After a lifetime of serving food to people in many local establishments, she decided at age 70 to get her certification as a Home Health Aide with the Visiting Nurses Association. She spent the next several years helping others during their time of need.
Survivors include her children: Gary Butler (Marilyn Grommeck), Gail Sheehan, Gini (Richard) Jameson, Gwen (Jeffrey) Coons, and Gena (Duane) Tillapaugh. She was a loving grandmother to Kip Butler, Nicholas (Kelly) Coons, Kiel (Jessica) Butler, Amanda Coons, KaraLee (Nathan) Johnson, and Sara and Emily Tillapaugh. She had four great-granddaughters: Lilah Coons, Alyssum Butler, Ella Coons, and Alena Butler. Betty was predeceased by her son-in-law, Philip Sheehan, in 2012.
She loved gardening, crocheting, cooking, crafting, baking, and watching her beloved birds. Above all else, she cherished the special moments she spent with her loving family.
Spring interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Worcester, NY. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
