Sharon Springs- Bettie Marie Evans, 44, of Rotterdam, formerly of Sharon Springs, died Friday, January 28, 2011 at her residence with her family at her side.
Born September 28, 1966 in Cobleskill, she was a graduate of the former Cobleskill Central School. Bettie had been employed as a dispatcher for the past few years at Railex in Rotterdam. Prior to that, she had worked at the Wal-Mart warehouse in Sharon Springs for eight years.
Bettie enjoyed camping at Belvedere Lake, where she loved to fish. She also found pleasure in tending to her outside flowers as well as the trips to the casinos.
She is survived by her two daughters: Samantha Messler of Fort Hood, TX and Sabrina Evans of Richmondville; her parents: Ed and Susan (Lane) All of Sharon Springs; her two grandsons: William and Edward Messler of Fort Hood, TX; her paternal grandmother: Lucy All of Cobleskill; her fiancé: Edward Carrow of Rotterdam; and her brother, Michael All of Summit; one uncle and several aunts and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 31, 2011 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Eric and Mark Butler, cousins of Bettie, will officiate. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 3 to 5 PM on Sunday, at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service and inurnment will be in Zion Rural Cemetery, Town of Seward, NY in the Spring.
