SEWARD (Schoharie County)- Beatrice "Bea" A. Spaulding, 74, of State Route 10 in Seward, died at her home Thursday, March 15, 2012, with her family at her side after a long illness.

She was born January 9, 1938 in Howes Cave, NY and was the daughter of Elmer and Myrtle (Nethaway) Rockwell.

For many years, she was a self-employed Home Health Aid throughout Schoharie County serving numerous families.

Bea was predeceased by her siblings, Katherine Sanford, Mildred Borst, Gwendolyn Franco, and William Rockwell.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Clinton Spaulding, whom she married July 20, 1958, a daughter, Susan (Andy) Gilchrist of Cobleskill, 3 sons, Duane (Carol) Spaulding of Seward, Kevin (Jeannette) Spaulding of Sharon, Gary Spaulding of Bushnell, FL, her beloved Grandchildren, Leanne Spaulding, Kevin Gately, Ashley Spaulding, Bradley Spaulding, Aidan Gilchrist, 3 sisters, Elinor Cox of Troy, Joan (Henry) Bray of Central Bridge, Donna (Henry) Marvin of Cutler, IN, 2 brothers, Elmer (Shelma) Rockwell, Jr. of Cobleskill, Frank Rockwell of Edgewater, FL, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, March 19, 2012 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY with Rev. Jared Van wagenen IV officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 18, 2012, from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cobleskill Regional Hospital, 178 Grandview Drive, Cobleskill, NY 12043.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh.
