Barry David Ruland, Sr.

Cobleskill- Barry D. Ruland, Sr., of Greenbush Hill Road, Cobleskill, New York passed peacefully Friday, February 17, 2023.
Born February 12, 1945 to Kenneth and Francis Ruland. He was a graduate of Cobleskill High School, Class of 1963.
He served in the US Army and was stationed in Bangkok, Thailand.
Barry was a steamfitter for over 25 years at General Electric, transferring to and retiring from Knolls Atomic Lab.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara (Rightmyer) Ruland; children, Heather (Michael) and Barry, Jr. (Megan); and his beautiful grandchildren, that he adored, Avery and Barrett; brothers-in-law, Gary (Sue) Rightmyer, Tom (Cathy) Rightmyer, Richard Rightmyer, Peter (Wendy) Rightmyer; sisters-in-law, Sandra Petersen, Linda Moon, Karen King, Brenda (Bob) Rundblad, Ann Rightmyer, Helen Ruland; and many nieces, and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Dean Ruland; sisters, Judith Long, and Edith Vickers; brothers-in-law, Mike Rightmyer, Eric Petersen, Roger King, and Lee Moon.
Barry treasured his family, his Harley, and his beloved dog, Ralph. Bob Dylan was his music of choice- Papa Bear Bear will be missed.
At Barry's request there will be no service. A celebration of life will be held in the future.
