Cobleskill- Barbara O. PeRue, 90, of Sycamore Lane, died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at her residence with her loving family at her side.
Born October 17, 1922 in Cobleskill, she was the daughter of Wesley and Luella (Hotaling) Olds.
Barbara was a licensed practical nurse and for several years she assisted the late Dr. Beard. She had also used her nursing skills at the former Bubbs Adult Home, which her parents owned on Harder Ave.
Barbara was a member of the First Baptist Church and volunteered in various capacities, such as the food pantry and clothing drive. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge.
Barbara enjoyed traveling in their motor home as they would travel to Maine and Florida. She and her husband also had a seasonal camp at Belvedere Lake.
She was predeceased by her husband, George PeRue, who died July 4, 2005.
Survivors include her daughter: Bonnie (John) Delapp of Cobleskill; her granddaughters: Faith Coger of Summit and Denise (Matt) Williams of Schenectady.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, with Rev. Jared Van Wagenen IV of the Second Reformed Church in Howes Cave officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
