Cobleskill- Mrs. Barbara N. Lambert, 79, of Campus Drive, passed away at her home with her family at her side on Saturday, June 16, 2007
Mrs. Lambert was born March 27, 1928 in Warnerville, the daughter of James L. and Naomi E. (Cole) Underhill.
She was a 1945 graduate of the former Cobleskill Central School and was co-owner of the former Lambert's Self Service in Cobleskill.
Mrs. Lambert was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church where she was active in many aspects until her illness. She was a volunteer for the former HAND'S in Cobleskill, the former Business and Professional Women and had served as treasurer at one time for the Cobleskill Merchant Bureau.
She married Raymond S. Lambert, Sr. on Dec. 31, 1958 and he predeceased her Nov. 23, 1990. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Helen Gronkowski and Catherine Tilison.
Survivors include four children: Stanley B. (Wanda S.)Fain, Jr. of Tampa, FL and their children, Bryan M. Fain of Shreveport, LA, Jeffrey Young of Tampa, FL, Tiffany L. Fain of Tampa, FL, and Susan L. Busciglio of Hawaii, and 5 great-grandchildren; Annette M. (John) Hornauer of Richmondville and their children, Audra L. Risley of Richmondville, Erika L. Butler of Richmondville, Dirk B. Hornauer of Tarpon Springs, FL, and 6 great-grandchildren; Christopher L. (Amy L.) Fain of Middleburgh, and their children, Bobbi Fain and Christopher James Fain, both of Middleburgh and 5 great-grandchildren; Raymond S. Lambert, Jr. of Richmondville, and his daughter, Marcia M. Tompkins of Clifton Park, and 2 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Evelyn France of Middleburgh, Norma Simmons and Carol Holloway, both of Richmondville, and several nieces and nephews
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at St. Vincent de Paul Church with Father Thomas Holmes as celebrant. A visitation period will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, June 19, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm Street Cobleskill. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
