Richmondville- Barbara E. Dauley, 74, of Main Street, died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital following a long illness.
Born March 10, 1937, in Richmondville, she was a daughter of Platt and Dorothy (Shaffer) Quackenbush.
Barbara was a lifelong area resident and most of her working career was spent in Richmondville. She had been a seamstress for Montaco's Dress Shop, Zainse Glove Shop, and Ace Glove, all formerly located in Richmondville. Most recently, she was a clerk at the Everything Shop when it was located in Cobleskill.
Barbara enjoyed the outdoors and flowers. She was a NASCAR fan, particularly one of Mark Martin. She was known as "Ma Dauley" to most everyone.
She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas W. Dauley, who died Feb. 8, 1999, and an infant daughter, Pamela.
Survivors include her three sons: Steven A. Dauley, Jeffrey J. Dauley, and Eric (Lea) Dauley, all of Richmondville; two grandsons: Josh Dauley and Eric Dauley, both of Richmondville; her sister: Dolores (Carl) Ure of Saratoga; her brother: Dennis (Sonya) Quackenbush of Saratoga; several nieces and nephews; and her good friend: Pooch Hagadorn of Richmondville.
A funeral service will be held at 12 PM (noon) on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Victor R. Zaccaro officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home prior to the service on Tues., from 11 AM until 12 PM. Burial will be at a later date in Summit Cemetery.
