Cobleskill- Barbara A. Blodgett, 80, formerly of Cobleskill, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at her daughter's home in Texas

Born October 31, 1934 in Summit, she was the daughter of Byron and Nellie (Dauley) Fancher and was a graduate of the former Cobleskill Central School.

Barbara was a teller at Key Bank for thirty-five years, working the Cobleskill and Worcester branches before retiring from the Schenectady office. She also was a part time bookkeeper for the Mountain Dairy/Dairy Deli for many years.

She loved spending time with her family, doing the NY Times crossword puzzle, reading, hunting, watching her beloved NY Yankees, visiting Cape Cod, and bird watching... especially her hummingbirds. She was the genealogist for the Fancher family.

Survivors include her three children: Cindy (Angel) Soto of Tomball, TX, Carol Blodgett of Richmondville, and Cheryl (Lisa) Blodgett of Schoharie; four siblings: Franklin Fancher of Amsterdam, Lois (Stewart) Wagner of Troy, Grace Panella of Flowery Branch, GA, and Wade Fancher of Carlisle; five grandchildren: Michael Soto, Anita (Matthew) Wood, Callie O'Herin, Dustin, O'Herin, and Rachel O'Herin; five great-grandchildren: Felix Soto, Anthony Vines, Sophia Soto, Dylan Vines, and Kole Wayman; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Robert Stark as officiant. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home from 10 AM to noon on Tuesday, prior to the service. Burial will follow in Summit Cemetery.
