Cobleskill- Barbara Louise Althiser, 64, of Campus Drive, Cobleskill, New York died Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Bassett Healthcare of Cooperstown.
Born on October 7, 1958 in Cobleskill, NY, she was the daughter of Charles Edward Althiser and Margaret Georgina Brown Althiser. She was a graduate of Richmondville Central School, a proud Tiger, and obtained her Cosmetology License through BOCES. She was a lifelong resident of the local area.
Barbara worked for the Best Western Bowling Alley, Walmart, and Dunkin Donuts. She enjoyed being in Customer Service and loved people.
She loved WWE Wrestling. She also enjoyed cooking for others and she liked to watch the Golden Girls. In her younger years she enjoyed helping her father with outdoor chores like hay.
Her parents and companion, Donald Dutchnowski predeceased her.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Sherrie and Jerome King, Noel Maiorana and son-in-law; grandchildren, Nick and Lauren Mackey, Torie Maiorana, Garrett Maiorana; great-granddaughter, Ariel Mackey and 1 on the way; 9 siblings, Carolyn, Ray, Peter, Randy, David, Brenda, Ruth, Brian, Keith Althiser and their spouses; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 2:00-4:00pm at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY with a memorial service following at 4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to help offset expenses.
