Cobleskill- Arlene G. Eldredge, 93, of Warnerville Cut-off Road, died Thursday, February 9, 2017 in the loving care of her grandchildren, at her grandson's residence in Saratoga Springs.
Born December 1, 1923 in Rensselaer, she was the daughter of W. Fay and Margaret (Bellgarde) Osterhout. Arlene was a graduate of the former Cobleskill Central School.
She was very devoted to her family and was always doing for others. Arlene loved to bake, tend to flowers, read, help her friends and adopt cats. She was a volunteer and member of the Cobleskill Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the Garden Club, and was a proud Ham Radio Operator.
She married James V.S. Eldredge in 1942 and he predeceased her in 1989. She was also predeceased by her son, James V.S. Eldredge, Jr; her siblings: Lorraine, Russell, Arthur, and Walter Osterhout.
Survivors include her grandson, Daniel (Amy) Eldredge of Saratoga Springs; granddaughter, Suzanne Czechowski of Cobleskill; sister, Esther (Donald) LaGrave, daughter-in-law, Patricia Eldredge-Chandler of Cobleskill; great-grandchildren: Austin, Brooke and Lucas Czechowski of Cobleskill and Mary Eldredge of Saratoga Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the Capital Living Nursing Center in Schenectady and its staff for their help and support during the past year.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Cobleskill Rural Cemetery, Hillview Section. Officiating will be Rev. Pamela Mikel- Hayes of the Cobleskill Unted Methodist Church.
