Antoinette "Toni" Claire Prezorski passed away peacefully on Friday, March 31, 2023, one week after her 92nd birthday. She was loved by her family and friends, who benefited from her generosity, sense of humor, and continual kindness.
Toni was born on March 24, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY to Michael and Marguerite Bellocchio. She grew up as a native New Yorker graduating high school and then Pratt Institute where she pursued her love of art and painting.
Toni married Leonard J. Prezorski in 1955. They raised five sons on Long Island, then later settled north of Cobleskill, New York for their retirement years. When her sons were older, she worked part-time in a public library and as an aide in public schools, and she later volunteered for the Cobleskill Hospital.
Toni loved music, art, gardening, and any form of entertainment. She voraciously read books and solved puzzles, and she was constantly embarking on a new project. She was most happy when she was creating something. From painting to sewing to baking, her artistic talents were always evident. She enjoyed bowling, swimming, figure skating, and scary movies, and she especially liked mysteries and anything Italian. She was equally comfortable with early quiet mornings and boisterous family gatherings, and most of all, she loved all forms of comedy. Her laughter was familiar to all who knew her. She was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul’s Church and cherished many friendships that she made there.
Toni is survived by her sons: Leonard M. and his wife Lauren, Stephen and his wife Kristen, Christopher and his wife Elizabeth, and Mark and his husband Owen; seven grandchildren: Jacob, Jennifer, Ally, Amanda, Mia, Alyssa, Cassandra, and Rebekah; three great-grandchildren; and her brother Matthew Bellocchio. Toni was predeceased by her son Thomas in 2005, husband Leonard in 2008 and grandson Nathaniel in 2018.
A period of visitation will be held from 5-7PM on Tuesday April 4th at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, NY. Her life will be celebrated at a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, April 5th at 10 AM at St. Vincent de Paul's Church in Cobleskill, NY. Later that day she will be buried alongside her husband Leonard at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
Contributions in lieu of flowers can be sent to the St. Vincent de Paul's Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill, NY 12043.
