Anthony Iungano

Cobleskill- Anthony E. Iungano, 82, formerly of Cobleskill, died Monday, April 6, 2015 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford, NY.

Born January 19, 1933 in New York City, he was the son of Ernest and Maria (Licata) Iungano.

Anthony was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict from 1954 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1955.

He moved to this area in 1984 and retired from General Electric in 2004 where he was a drafting engineer. He was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Cobleskill, serving as an usher for several years.

He met his lovely wife, Diane, at work and she predeceased him on January 27, 2014. Together they enjoyed theater and dancing. Anthony also loved the outdoors and playing with his children in the snow. He was quite a handyman as well.

Survivors include his five children: Barbara Iungano of San Francisco, CA, JoAnne Tinschert of Tampa, FL, Anthony Iungano of Long Island, Donna Luciano of Holtsville, and Karen Iungano of Sarasota, FL; and seven grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill. A reception will follow in the social hall of the church.
