Anthony Cieplensky

Sharon Springs- Anthony P. Cieplensky, 82, formerly of Sharon Springs, died Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Advent Health North Pinellas in Tarpon Springs, FL.

Born May 1, 1937 in New York City, he was the son of Anthony and Elizabeth (Milyasko) Cieplensky.

Tony was a carpenter his entire life and retired from the Carpenters’ Union.  He and his family moved to the Sharon Springs area in 1980’s to enjoy the more relaxed country living from down state.  He and his wife, Francine, owned and operated the Hollywood Too Restaurant in Sharon Springs until retiring in 1990.  They often wintered in Florida, eventually moving and living there for the past several years.  Tony enjoyed fishing, golfing and socializing every evening with his friends at happy hour.

Cherishing his memories are his three adoring children:  Elizabeth (Peter) Koonz of Slingerlands, Anthony Cieplensky of Sharon Springs and James Cieplensky of Holiday, FL; his beloved brother and sister: John Cieplensky of FL and Mary Jenkins of Westwood, NJ; loving grandchildren:  Steven, Greg, Katie Rossettini and Anne McBroome, Cristina Contardo, Jacklyn Cieplensky, Jessica, Bryan and Kevin Cieplensky, Tyler Cieplensky, Robert Cieplensky and Katherine Stephenson and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Francine and two sons, Robert and Michael.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, January 31, 2020 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill.  Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation from 4 PM to 7 PM on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.  Spring interment will be in Sharon Cemetery.
