Anne Campbell

Anne Emmons Campbell, 74, of Cobleskill (formerly of Schoharie), passed away peacefully at home on May 8, 2009. Born in Albany, NY on March 1, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Judy (Dietz) Emmons. She was predeceased by a brother, Peter A. Emmons.

A 1952 graduate of Bethlehem High School, she attended SUNY New Paltz and completed her Masters degree at Indiana University. Anne taught at various schools including Voorheesville, Locust Valley
(Long Island) and Bethlehem. She worked at Bethlehem Public Library, and SUNY Cobleskill as a Career Counselor until her retirement in 2003. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Schoharie.

In her retirement, she was involved with volunteer work at Middleburgh Public Library, Schoharie Food Pantry and the Mohawk Valley Library Association. She was also a board member of Mohawk Valley Library Association.
She loved taking care of her family, her children and grandchildren and going on outings with her friends.

Her loving family includes six children. Elizabeth (Garfield )Porcher of Altanta, GA, Christopher Campbell of Liverpool, NY, Susan Campbell of Schenectady, NY, John Campbell of Carlisle, NY, Caroline Warner of Richmondville, NY and Rion Campbell of East Berne, NY. She also has nine grandchildren, Cara and Lindsay Garfield, Crystal and Chad Campbell, Garrett and Gabe Warner, Gabby and Ophelia Campbell, and Julia Campbell. Her sister, Joan Emmons of Delmar, NY, along with her sister in laws, Mildred Emmons of Holliston, MA and Ellen (Rob) Carter of Pennsville, NJ.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill with Father Paul Engel as celebrant. Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation on Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Burial will be private.
