Alverda Ploss, 94, formerly of Ploss Road, Richmondville, New York died Friday, August 23, 2024 at A.O. Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta.
Born on May 1, 1930 she was the daughter of Lewis Palmatier and Lillian Garner Palmatier. She was a lifelong resident of the local area.
Alverda was a cook for SUNY Cobleskill.
She enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She loved going to auctions.
Alverda was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Ploss; children, Joseph Pickett, Catherine Ploss; brothers, Howard Palmatier, Lloyd Palmatier, Donald Palmatier; sisters, Kate Sisson, Virginia Kniskern; and nephew, Jonathan Palmatier.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Alice Palmatier; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Inurnment will take place in Richmondville Cemetery at a later date.
