Allen Jones
Cobleskill- Allen E. Jones, 96, of Elm St., died Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center in Schenectady.
He was born the fifth child to Anna Fenn Jones and Edward W. Jones in Schenevus on October 30, 1917. He moved to Cobleskill and married Irene E. Mereness on Sept. 24, 1947. They had four children: Marsha Reed of Wilton, NY, Carole Andolina of KY, Allen E. Jones, Jr. of NC, and Fenton D. Jones of Albany. There are ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Allen's lifelong love were motion pictures and his vocation working as a projectionist. He learned every job at The Park Theatre, Cobleskill and was projectionist and manager for many years.
Over the course of sixty years, he built a direct sales business of office supplies and advertising specialties throughout eight counties.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home of Middleburgh.
