Alice Tinklepaugh

Richmondville - Mrs. Alice M. Tinklepaugh, 79, of Main Street, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Tinklepaugh was born June 8, 1931 in Green Bay, WI, a daughter of Fred and Florence (Knowles) Burger.

In 1988, she retired as village clerk for Richmondville, where she began her employment in 1970 as deputy clerk.

She was an avid card player and dearly loved her card playing girlfriends. Alice also enjoyed reading.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years: Donald Tinklepaugh; her son: Dan (Mary) Tinklepaugh of Lewisville, TX; her daughter: Diane (David) Klafehn of Rochester; three grandchildren: Caroline Tinklepaugh of Lewisville, TX, and Alex and Audrey Klafehn, both of Rochester; a sister: Mary Reese of Richmondville; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with the retired Rev. Victor R. Zaccaro officiating. Friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home from 9:30 to 11 AM on Sat., prior to the service. Burial will be in Richmondville Rural Cemetery.
