Lawyersville- Alice M. Palmer, 97, of Lawyersville Road, died Sunday, January 20, 2013 at her residence following a long illness.
Born May 14, 1915 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of Olin and Maize (Lawyer) Patterson.
Being a farmer's wife, she assisted in the daily chores and activities on the Palmer Farm. Alice had also been a store clerk at both the former Newberry's and Wohl's Department Store in Cobleskill.
For numerous years she was an active member of the hospital auxiliary in Cobleskill. Alice was a member of the Lawyersville Reformed Church, participating in their activities for many years.
She married Clifford Palmer on February 8, 1933, and he predeceased her on February 8, 2009.
Survivors include her three children: Beverly (John) Brooks of Glenville, Regina Collins of Herkimer, Richard (Joan) Palmer of Lawyersville; nine grandchildren: Clifford Brooks, Todd Broocks, Randolph Collins, Debra Peters, Sandra Annutto, Daniel Palmer, Brenda Marks, Lori Veshia, Kenneth Sautter; nineteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home prior to the service Thur., from 11:30AM to 1:00PM. Spring interment will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
