Cobleskill- Alice Boynton, 89, of State Route 10 died Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland where she has been a resident since 2019.
Born August 21, 1931 in Seward, NY, she was the daughter of Frederick and Elda (VanBuren) Sperbeck.
Alice had worked at Grand Union in Cobleskill and Campbell Plastics in Rotterdam before most recently being a greeter at Walmart in Cobleskill.
Her family meant the world to her and that is exactly what she most treasured- family.
On Dec 31, 1950 she married David Wade Boynton and he predeceased her on May 16, 1995. She was also predeceased by her son Gary on October 18, 2009 and her siblings: Melvin, Elizabeth, Nellie and Fred, Jr.
Cherishing her memories forever are her daughters: Bonnie (Ray) Borthwick of Rochester, MA and Patricia (Glen) Moyster of Cobleskill; sister, Doris Constantino; five grandchildren: Gabriel Borthwick, Eric Borthwick, Garrison Borthwick, Adam Moyster and Gregory Bitterly; six great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Candy Boynton..
Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held from 10 AM to 11AM on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. A private funeral service will be held for the family with burial following in Richmondville Rural Cemetery. Face coverings and social distancing will be respected by all attendees.
