Alfred Smith

Cobleskill- Alfred T. Smith, 79, of Anthony Circle, died Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY after being stricken at home.

He is survived by two children:  Douglas Smith and Kristine Wood and four grandchildren; three sisters:  Marie Appleget, Janet Gannon, and Carol LaBatti.  Alfred was born and raised in Sag Harbor.  He was predeceased by his loving wife, Nan Smith, in August of 2017 and brother, Knute C. Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 4 PM on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Bert Mayne officiating.  Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held prior to the service from 1 to 4 PM.  Cremation will follow the service.
