Summit- Albert J. McDonald, "Max", 103, formerly of Kingston and Summit, died Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Ten Broeck Commons in Lake Katrine, NY.
Born December 2, 1913 in Malone, NY, he was the son of James E. and Mary Rose (Fountaine) McDonald.
Max graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in Malone and retired in 1975 the NY Central Railroad as a foreman after thirty-seven years of employment.
In 1978, he and his wife moved to Florida and spent their summers in Summit. He was a communicant of the former St. Anna's Church in Summit.
On May 28, 1935, he married Edna Harrington and she predeceased him on August 6, 2003.
Max was an avid Yankees fan and fisherman until he became 100.
Survivors include his daughter, Dee Pendell of Summit and son, James McDonald of Kingston; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30PM on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at St. Vincent de Paul Church 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill. A period of visitation will take place from 10:30 AM to noon on Saturday at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Burial will be in Summit Cemetery.
