Blenheim - Albert R. Dugas, 97, of Dugas Road, died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at his residence.
Born September 5, 1912, in New York City, Al was the son of Stefan and Mary (Puztay) Dugas.
Al married his high school sweetheart, Katherine George, on September 5, 1933. They bought the former Felter Farm in Blenheim in 1945, and continued to operate it as a dairy farm. Al retired from General Electric of Schenectady where he was a skilled machinist.
In their earlier years of marriage, the Dugas' enjoyed traveling throughout Europe. Al also had a hobby of building model helicopters and was a member of the Aviation Club in Schenectady.
He was predeceased by his wife on November 19, 2007.
Survivors include a niece, Linda (Ed) Borella of Aquebogue, NY; and two nephews: Joseph Marcogliese of South Salem, NY and Robert Moriale of Saratoga Springs, NY.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, Inc., P.O. Box 40, Schoharie, NY 12157.
