Middleburgh- Albert J. Bartolis, 80, of Bixby Road, died Monday, July 4, 2011 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford, NY

Born December 27, 1930 in New York City, he was a son of Albert J. and Mary (Lanney) Bertolisi.

Albert was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving from 1951 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1953. He was awarded the National Defense Service Ribbon.

For many years he owned and operated his own auto radiator repair shop in both Farmingdale, NY and in the state of Florida. After retirement and moving to this area, he became a crew member at McDonald's in the Wal-Mart Plaza in Cobleskill.

Albert was a devoted family man and enjoyed time with his friends as well. He was an avid NY Giants and Yankees fan although he enjoyed other sports and music.

Albert was a proud fifty year member of AA.

Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Helen (Bonventre) Bartolis of Middleburgh; five children: Eileen (Frank) Fontana of Latham, Dianne Rauff of West Babylon, Barbara (Ken) Czachor of Middleburgh, Albert J. Bartolis, Jr. of North Carolina, Gary (Noelle) Bartolis of Candor, NY; two sisters: Delores Sainz de la Pena and Kathlyn DeNardo, both of Florida; fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Tues., July 12, 2011 at the Schoharie Reformed Church, Main St., Schoharie, NY 12157.

Memorial contributions may be made to Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care, 295 E. Main St., Cobleskill, NY 12043.
