Adam Scibek,

Cobleskill - Adam M. Scibek, Jr., 40, of Washington Ave., died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, May 18, 2011.

Born February 8, 1971 in Pennsylvania, Adam was a 1989 graduate of the former Cobleskill Central School and was a former high school football player. Following graduation, Adam enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed in Bermuda as a hospital Corpsman. He was honorably discharged in 1993 and continued his education at Ellis Hospital School of Nursing in Schenectady. Adam became a registered nurse in 1997.

Adam had been employed as a registered nurse for several years at the Samuel Stratton V.A. Medical Center in Albany.

His family was his pride and joy.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy (Morey) Scibek, whom he married February 22, 2000; their two sons: Cameron and Scott Scibek of Cobleskill; his parents: Adam and Sandra (Steffy) Scibek, Sr., of Harrisburg, PA; four sisters: Mary Simkins of Baltimore, MD, Angie Clark of Cobleskill, Laura Woolf of Provo, UT, and Erin Johnston of Halifax, PA; his parents-in-law: Douglas and Leitha Morey of Punta Gorda, FL; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held on Sunday, May 22, 2011 from 2 to 4 PM at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, NY 12043.
