Wayne D. Seaburg

Middleburgh: Wayne D. Seaburg, 68, of Treadlemire Road, died peacefully Sunday, January 1, 2017 at his residence.

Wayne was born on December 24, 1948 in Niskayuna, NY a son of Shirley M. (Rolfe) Seaburg Boyle and Wiley D. Seaburg.

Following graduation, Wayne proudly served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1971.

He worked at the family's business, LaVoy's Service Station in Niskayuna before moving to Middleburgh and working as a custodian and school bus driver at Middleburgh Central School until his retirement. In retirement, Wayne worked part-time at many locations as a driver, most recently at Diversified Automotive in Selkirk.

Wayne was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, boating and anything nature related. He was also a stock car racing fan.

He was a member of the New York State Muzzleloader's Association, the Middleburgh Rod & Gun Club and formerly volunteered with the Schenectady Grand Boulevard Fire Dept, the Middleburgh Emergency Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Huntersland Volunteer Fire Dept.

Besides his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his sister: Sharon and his brother: Warren.

Wayne is survived by his daughters: Priscilla (Thomas) LaFountain of Albany, Krystal Seaburg of Middleburgh; son: Brandon (Samantha) Seaburg of Sioux Falls, SD; sister: Sue Nagle of North Ft. Myers FL; brothers: Wayde (Karin) Seaburg of Scotia, Wrandy Seaburg of Niskayuna; former wife and friend: Helen LaVoy of Sharon Springs; grandchildren: Adelyna and Miles LaFountain of Albany; many nieces, nephews, cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00PM on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River Street, Middleburgh, NY, with Rev. Carol Coltrain of the Huntersland United Methodist Church officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation from 3:00PM-4:00PM at the funeral home, prior to the service. Inurnment with military honors will be at a later date in Satatoga National Cemetery.
