Cobleskill- Rose DeSena, 88, of Lafayette Circle, died Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown following a short illness.

Born November 15, 1928 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Luke and Catherine (Barone) Palladino.

Rose lived most of her life in Brooklyn and was co-owner of L&R Dry Cleaners with her husband. She was a talented seamstress, well known for working on bridal gowns. They moved to the Cobleskill area in 1997, where she became a member of the Summit Seniors and the Red Hat Society. For the past fifteen years, Rose enjoyed planning the bus trips to Turning Stone Casinos with L&S Bus Co.

She was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church. In her spare time, Rose enjoyed crocheting and cooking.

She was predeceased by her husband, Louis DeSena, on May 20, 2000; her son, Louis; a daughter, Lois and a brother, Carl Palladino.

Survivors include her children, Frank DeSena and Catherine Jean DeSena both of Cobleskill; her brother, Anthony (Joan) Palladino of Brick, NJ; sister: Ann Palladino-Blasso of Middletown; three grandsons: Dakota and Louis Maiello and Charles Scalice; ten nieces and nephews and nineteen great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill with Rev. Jeffrey L'Arche as celebrant. There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cobleskill Volunteer Rescue Squad, PO Box 451, Cobleskill, NY 12043.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
