O’Rhea T. Karker, 91, formerly of Richmondville and most recently of Cobleskill died on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at The River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam.
Born in Albany, NY, on May 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ida M. (Wandres) Quinn.
She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice Karker in 1987 and son, Jim Karker, in 2012.
O’Rhea enjoyed traveling, especially to Israel and France. In the winter she enjoyed downhill skiing. She was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Cobleskill and a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Cobleskill Hospital Auxiliary.
O’Rhea worked for several years as an escort at Hart Tours in Delmar, and most recently worked as a clerk at J.C. Penny in Cobleskill.
Surviving her are five grandsons: Jacob Karker of Esperance, Matthew Karker, Joseph Karker and Patrick Karker all of Richmondville, and Charles Grady Karker of Cobleskill; six great-grandchildren: Landon and Nolan Karker, Nicholas, Brian, Ida and Emma Karker; her niece, Joan Gloff of California and nephew, Jurgin Karker of Syracuse, NY, as well as two cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Richmondville Rural Cemetery with Deacon Dr. Gary Surman officiating.
