Summit-Brian M. Gaske, 76, of State Highway 10 in Summit, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side.
Brian was born March 4, 1943, in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of Leon Gaske and Alice (King) Gaske Stapleton.
He worked at Gentlemen Sheet Metal in Brooklyn as a truck driver until his retirement. He loved to watch TV and especially programs that contained subject matter that was related to the world on National Geographic. His other pleasures in life were fishing, dancing, singing and his love of all animals, but a fondness towards dogs, cats and cows.
He was predeceased by a son, Michael, and a brother, James.
Brian is survived by his wife, Alice Smith Gaske, whom he married on February 3, 2007, his children: James Gaske of Schenevus, Samantha Gaske of Schenevus, Dawn Tefft of Maryland, NY, his stepdaughters: Michelle Campbell and Kelley Prince both of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY; his siblings: Kathleen Stapleton of Brooklyn, Linda Stapleton of Staten Island, and Robert Gaske of Cobleskill; 10 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill with Rev. James Donlon as celebrant. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, 2-4 and 7-9 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY.
