Warnerville- Anne E. MacCuish, 61, of Greenbush Hill Road, died Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital after an unexpected medical event at home.

Born October 25, 1956 in Flushing, NY, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Catherine (Shaw) MacIsaac.

Anne and her husband have lived in this area for the past ten years and she had been employed as Administrative Support for Schoharie County Office of Emergency Services.

Her passion for animals and the horrific effects of Hurricane Irene led her to become involved with numerous programs: American Red Cross Disaster Assistance Team and Shelter Operations Team, CART (County Animal Rescue Team), Schoharie County Dept. of Health Medical Reserve Corp., Human Service Coordinating Council, SALT Preparedness Committee and Volunteer Reception Center, Joshua Tree Volunteer, PETTECH (Pet First Aid) and Pet Saver, Prepare Schoharie- Preparedness Outreach Program and National Weather Service Sky Warn Program.

Sharing her memories are her husband, Neil “Buddy” MacCuish, whom she married April 25, 1976; her two children: Catherine MacCuish and her son, Jason MacCuish and Neil F. (Danielle) MacCuish and their daughter, Brooklyn MacCuish all of Randolph, MA; four siblings: Patricia Hanrahan of Pennsylvania, Cathy (Jimmy) Mills of Manhattan, James MacIsaac of Orange County, NY, Kevin (Stacey) MacIsaac of Surprise, NY and sister-in-law, Linda MacCuish of Cape Breton, NS. Along with her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her brother, John, and baby sister, Colleen.

Anne loved animals big and small. She especially enjoyed spending time with her English Springer Spaniel furbabies, Doughal, Duncan and Ceilidh and her cats and horses. They were her constant companions.

Anne's heart and spirit were always down home in Cape Breton, NS. Her sanctuary was at the Point at Black Brook with her best friend, Neil. Every morning, she would drink her cup of Cape Breton tea and dreamed of retiring to the Point.

Her family and friends will always remember how well she could bake, that she was always ready for a competitive game of scrabble and her love of reading.

Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held from 12PM to 2PM on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.   A Celebration of Life will commence at 2 PM immediately following the visitation, with Rev. David Houck officiating.

Reception to follow immediately after at Eagles' Club, 159 Legion Drive, Cobleskill, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in any amount to continue an initiative Anne held close to her heart.  Through a partnership with Anne’s CART (County Animal Response Team) Unit and Pet Tracks Pet Services, Anne was working to provide Pet Oxygen Mask to all of the county fire departments and emergency responders.  Any additional funds collected beyond those needed to for the oxygen masks and blankets for the kits will be used towards Anne’s other animal projects.  Checks can be made to the Bank of Richmondville with a note in the memo line to “The Benefit of Anne MacCuish”.  A collection box will be available during Anne’s Celebration of Life and Reception.   Checks can also be mailed to the Bank of Richmondville, 428 Main Street, PO Box 488, Schoharie, NY 12157.
